Last week, I attended the first ever Sorella Freestyle Bra Design Awards Ceremony at Tropicana City Mall. Ahem.. This was one of the most "intimate" and last few events that I attended before heading back to my hometown. The main agenda of the event was to view some of the creative bras designed by talented students all over Malaysia... What? CREATIVE BRAS, you say? Wait till you see this! Please, don't feel shy :p
The purpose of this event was to create a great connection between colleges and universities with Sorella Malaysia. As a well-known lingerie brand in Asia, Sorella strives to give a helping hand to students who are talented in designs to boost their creativity and designs wisely. It is also a great platform for all the studens who participated to get recognition on their career paths. I guess this means that you can add this competition to your list of achievements/ design portfolio/ resume! I wish I was that creative too.. Lol.
The dresscode was PINK and it turns out that I didn't have anything pink to wear in my wardrobe! :o Yes, I couldn't believe it either but I managed to grab this top from Asian Avenue the night before and I sort of put it together to look like a princess gown. Forced to wear a long skirt because of the scar T.T

Yup, THIS was what I meant! The bras are absolutely stunning and interesting, aren't they? Out of all the submissions, these were the chosen Top 10. Which one is your favourite?

While waiting for the awards ceremony to begin, we walked around the store and discovered some of Sorella's extensive range of products. Not only do they have bras and panties, but also corsets and sleepwear as well!
Time for the awards ceremony! There was a best dressed award and it went to Miss Ella (sorry forgot to snap a pic). She was so cool, totally dressed in pink from head to toe, literally! Even her hair was pink.
Most popular award went to Uma Eswari A/P Punchanathan of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with the theme 'Cleo Patra'.
Second runner-up goes to Lye See Yen of Raffles College of Higher Education KL. Her piece was titled 'Medame Primcoggler' and was inspired by Western style, but added a touch of the East with coins and Chinese medallion. Apparently, she spent 3 weeks of sleepless nights to complete this! Such dedication :o
1st runner-up goes to Chan Shi Qi of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and her piece is titled 'The Scissors'. If you look closely, you will see that the design on the front actually resemble a pair of scissors. Cool, huh?
And the winner is.... Chia Kay Thuan, who is also from Raffles College! Unfortunately, he couldn't make it on that day so his classmate collected the prize for him. Hard to believe a guy won a bra design competition? Just goes to show that creativity can go a long way. His piece is honestly one of the designs that caught my eye initially and it's titled 'The Elizabeth Queen'.
